The Final 'Hobbit' Film Is Now Called 'Battle Of The Five Armies'

"The Hobbit: There And Back Again" is no longer coming out on Dec. 17. Instead, Peter Jackson announced on Thursday that the final installment in his "Hobbit" trilogy has a new title: "The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies." Here's Jackson explaining the change on Facebook:

Combined, the first two films in Jackson's franchise have grossed just under $2 billion worldwide. "The Battle of the Five Armies" will look to increase that total at the end of the year. "The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies" is out on Dec. 17.
